Thursday 15th October 2020. 7-9pm. The Cheese & Grain, Frome
What if…our entire community could get together to support local, social, sustainable entrepreneurial projects? What if we could build an entire ecosystem of support around the types of initiatives we want to see flourish in our town?
Join us for an evening of connection, celebration and solidarity. We’ll come together to “invest” in local start-ups or enterprises that need our help to grow.
Entrepreneurs need all kinds of support. Financial capital is important, but so are other forms of support, from skills, networks and workspace, to child care. Join us to play your part in creating even more of the kind of town we want to live in!
I thought the whole event was really inspiring. It’s the future. A brilliant way of building a sustainable and resilient community from the people upwards.

The Local Entrepreneurs Forum was a brilliant event – It was terrific to see the number of Frome Community “Dragons” pledging support for the variety of organisations pitching. I was proud to see the newly formed Tech Shed presenting their proposals, and generating some really useful support from Frome Organisations and individuals. Well done Edventure – You may need to get a larger venue next time!

Feeling extremely proud to be part of the Edventure Team for Frome’s first ever L.E.F. and to see how community spirit can pull together so many varied skill sets and expertise to help local businesses progress and grow. The L.E.F. was not only a great example of what we can make happen for our local business, but also a celebratory event of the positive impact it can bring – a great first for Frome.

The Local Entrepreneurs Forum was a great opportunity to bring the business community together to encourage mutual support. The level of engagement was incredible and many connections were made through the evening. Frome Town Council is committed to helping to build a thriving community of businesspeople that help each other and give back to the wider community. We were therefore delighted to support this initiative and look forward to hearing all the stories from those businesses that took part!
Peter Wheelhouse, Economic Development & Regeneration Manager - Frome Town Council
Being part of this pioneering community event went well beyond all my expectations. It made me proud to live in Frome and it made me feel even more connected to the wonderful social entrepreneurs who are building Frome’s Future in inspiring and creative ways. Pledging support, financial and practical, turned out to be very infectious. This is just the beginning !

The LEF provided a great opportunity to showcase the supportive and collaborative community we have here in Frome. The event had a real energy behind it, and it was enthusing to hear the shouts of support around the room and the dedication of the entrepreneurs making the pitches.
Vivienne Whitaker, Frome Town Council
The LEF was a wonderful way to support local businesses that might go under the radar in normal circumstances. There was a lovely feeling of community. The pitches were delivered with passion and the generosity and friendliness of people in the room was quite humbling.

What do you mean by financial / non-financial investment?
Non-financial investment could include providing time, networking help, workspace, and other goods or services – either voluntary or in return for goods or other exchanges.
Financial investment could include offering a loan or money in return for equity – investors can pledge their support at the meeting, and will then follow up afterwards to arrange their own terms and conduct their own due diligence.
Is there an age limit for the event? Do I need ID?
No age limit for the event, and no ID required! Just please remember that alcohol will only be sold to those over 18.
What should I bring with me to the event? What should I *not* bring?
Please do bring your sense of community, the will to make things better by creating a Community Supported Local Economy, offers of spare cash, expertise, skills, time, support, hugs… Oh, and your friends! We’d love to see them all there. You may not bring saboteurs, cynics, or drugs.
